Mandalay Golf Course Estate, Beveridge

Logo_Mandalay.jpg

The golf course is constructed on land with gentle slopes and incorporates into its landscape the occasional rocky outcrop.  Interspersed within the golf course layout are valley floors conveying external stormwater flows through the site.  Throughout the golf course wetlands have been incorporated to improve the quality of the stormwater from the development prior to discharge.

Integral to the golf course are several water bodies for the management of water for growing and maintenance needs of the golf course as well as aesthetic outlook for the residential development.

Mandalay Golf Course Estate, Beveridge

The Mandalay project consists of a residential estate of 2,000 lots surrounding an 18 hole golf course designed by Thomson-Perrett.  The site is located some 42 km from the city in the township of Beveridge on the Hume Freeway north of Kalkallo.   From the Freeway is a drive of nearly two kilometres along a revitalised entry road.

The 40 Megalitre dam capturing stormwater runoff from the development reduces golf course dependence on Class A reuse water from a nearby Yarra Valley Water facility and acts as a retardation basin for major rain events.

Underlying the above is extensive investigation and analysis of geological, hydrogeology, water balance, hydraulic, flora and fauna, cultural heritage assessments undertaken for the site.  WBCM Pty Ltd has also been engaged in developing the infrastructure assets for the needs of the residential and golf course components of the development.
